Roane County sits where the Clinch and Tennessee rivers meet, west of Knoxville, with about 57,000 people in Rockwood, Harriman, Kingston and part of Oak Ridge. Every one of those cities enforces its own residential codes, and Roane County Building Codes and Zoning handles the rest. The county's storm record includes an EF-1 tornado with peak winds near 100 mph on 20 May 2025 that snapped trees along Old Harriman Highway, an EF-1 in August 2023 that destroyed a detached garage at Oral, and golf-ball-size hail at Harriman in 2015 and at Kingston in 2014, according to NOAA's storm events database. Lakes and ridgelines both shape the wind here. We inspect first, document what we find with photos, and give you a written estimate before any work begins.
